St. George, Utah’s breathtaking landscapes set the stage for the 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship, where Ali Ozymy opened up her 2024 race season with a bang. Competing in the F25-29 age group, Ali’s path to the podium was a testament to her unwavering dedication, strategic execution, and, above all, her resilience.

Overcoming Challenges

From the time Ali exited the water, she made it a point to race her race while continuously making progress through the field:

Qualifying for the World Championship

Ali’s performance at St. George earned her a spot in her second consecutive IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in New Zealand. However, in a strategic move, she declined the offer to focus on the upcoming IRONMAN World Championship in Nice this September. This decision underscores Ali’s commitment to her long-term goals. It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Ali has made such a choice; she declined her IRONMAN World Championship slot to Kona last year to concentrate on the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Finland.

A Journey of Resilience and Strategy

Ali’s journey to St. George was challenging. She had to balance a demanding job and a few setbacks. Ali’s focus on long-term goals and staying flexible are vital to her work/life/sport. Ali carefully considered which course to target, the reasons behind stepping on a start line, and how racing would contribute to her long-term season goals. Success on course is not a stroke of luck.

Looking Ahead

While Ali has a few racing options across her season to support her journey, the focus remains on the IRONMAN World Championship in Nice. The team looks forward to following Ali across the season on her way to the championship.
